Advert – Nurse Practitioner / Advanced Nurse Practitioner

 

Prescribing qualification desirable.

(Fixed term 12 months mat leave cover, with opportunity for substantive post for right candidate)

 

We are seeking a 6-8 session Nurse Practitioner to join our friendly and dynamic team in a well-established teaching practice in the town of Jarrow, South Tyneside.

 

With both the A1 and the Tyne Tunnel within a few minutes' drive away, there are excellent transport routes, mostly against the flow of rush hour traffic.

 

We are a supportive, friendly, sociable, resilient and expanding practice. Our team consists of 2 GP Partners, 3 GPs and 3 Nurse Practitioners, supported by excellent management, reception and administrative teams, Practice Nurse/GPA's, up-skilled HCAs, and enthusiastic FY2s and Registrars, serving a list size of 9000 patients.

 

Very low home visit rates, streamlined admin, full EPS prescribing and flexible working, means a better than average work-life balance.

 

Our supportive environment focuses on teaching and training: both for our staff, and our patients who have realistic expectations. We are a Foundation-training practice, as well as medical student and nursing student mentoring. We have weekly voluntary educational sessions for Nurse Practitioners.

 

You will be taking part in independent surgeries (always supported by a GP), occasional domiciliary visits, and a small amount of administrative duties. Extended hours access one day a week will be compensated by late start/ early finish.

 

This post is designed for motivated, enthusiastic individuals, with good communication skills who work well within a team and independently.  

 

Salary is experience-dependent and based on the appropriate scale. Please contact the Practice for further information. 

 

Salary – £25.26 - £29.42 per hour depending on experience.

Sessons – Up to 40 hours per week.
